This is a pretty cool toy in the Dino Horizons line by Tedco Toys. You’ve all seen the “knowledge wheel” learning tools with all kinds of subjects. As far as I can tell, this is the only one out there about dinosaurs. This toy showcases 40 different dinosaurs, from the Devonian period (over 360 million years ago) to the Palaeocene (65 million years ago). This learning toy will tell your dinosaur fan all sorts of information including: how to pronounce the name, what the name really means, where the dinosaurs lived, what period they lived in, how big they were (height and weight) and what they ate. There is also a brief paragraph describing each dinosaur in general.

What my kid really likes about this one is the great pictures. One side has some great paintings of dinosaurs from the Permian period and older, and the other side has pictures from the Triassic Period and later. It’s recommended for ages 6 and up and that’s about as young a child that would benefit from it. But it’s also interesting for adults, as I enjoy it as well when my son wants us to learn about dinosaurs at story time almost every night. For cool science toys, this one is definitely cool. For a price around $10 US, I can easily recommend Tedco’s Dinosaur Knowledge Wheel.
