Science Toy Review

For about $5-6, the Secret Codes Science Kit is a pretty cool little toy. If you’ve got a kid interested in spies or maybe they’ve seen an old James Bond movie and liked it, this might be a clever toy for them. It’s a pretty basic toy, meaning it doesn’t have a lot of plastic gadgets or gizmos, but requires a bit of thinking. But don’t worry- kids will still think it’s a lot of fun. They’ll learn about cryptography, and how to use cipher cards and code wheels to decode hidden messages. There’s even an invisible ink pen included.

Like many of the Slinky Science Toys, this one is pretty interesting. Your kids will likely get a few hours fun out of it, but considering the low cost, the long-term benefits of honing these critical thinking skills make this a great toy for the value. Overall, highly recommended.
